Sinead O'Connor - Óró 's é do bheatha 'bhaile (Live In Dublin concert video clip) www.tg4.ie
Óró 's é do bheatha 'bhaile

As sung by Sinead O'Connor

Chorus
Oró, sé do bheatha abhaile x 3
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh.
'Sé do bheatha, a bhean ba léanmhar,
do b'é ár gcreach tú bheith i ngéibheann,
do dhúiche bhreá i seilbh méirleach,
is tú díolta leis na Gallaibh.

(Chorus)

Tá Gráinne Mhaol ag go duill ar sáile,
óglaigh armtha léi mar gharda,
Gaeil iad féin is ní Gaill ná Spáinnigh,
is cuirfidh siad ruaig ar Ghallaibh.

(Chorus)

A bhuí le Rí na bhFeart go bhfeiceam,
mura mbeam beo ina dhiaidh ach seachtain,
Gráinne Mhaol agus míle gaiscíoch,
ag fógairt fáin ar Ghallaibh.

(Chorus) x 2 buíochas le animalunaris

Sinead translates this (in the album jacket) slightly differently than others do :
Chorus -
"Hail - you are welcome home! x3 Summer is now approaching"
V1 - "Welcome you woman of misfortune,
To our grief you've been imprisoned,
Your majestic lands possessed by villains,
You yourself sold into captivity."

V2 - "Grainne Mhaol is coming over the ocean, With armed soldiers as protection, Neither French nor Spanish but Irish, And they will scatter the invader." V3 - "My greatest wish would be to see, Even if I died within a week of seeing it, Grainne Mhaol and her mighty warriors, Proclaiming banishment to the invaders." She also comments that she sees it as "an honouring of the female warrior spirit" and "celebrating the preciousness of female ferocity, strength, and fire." Can't stop listening!

a transliteration (thanks to philsteakfreeman) - that is, how to pronounce it using English sounds.
Oro, se do bheatha 'bhaile! (Oh row shay duh vah ah-wallyah) Oro, se do bheatha 'bhaile! Oro, se do bheatha 'bhaile! Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh. (Ah nish er hockt on t-ow-rig) Se do bheatha a bhean ba leanmhar!
