In this particular movie, if any actor who DESERVED an oscar it was Ralph; the fact that the oscar went to the actress instead for such a minor/trivial role was completely UNJUST and UNFAIR; there is a dark side behind it all in the film business. Unquestionably, given her background, the so-called relationship with director/screenwriter/producer Darren Aronofsky must have been a major factor; obviously, it's more of a trade than a genuine loving relationship. You can't fool people.

They made it look as if there was something between Ralph and the actress, but it was staged; notice the person hands Ralph an umbrella for him to pose for the pictures? that too was part of the act. Even Ralph himself once said that he doesn't like the idea of showing emotions easily in public, makes you question it's authenticity.
