RE: Black, Conscious and Gay-What Is The Problem? Tru2me35 did a great video addressing homophobia in the conscious community, and I wanted to join the discussion. I could not address all of her concerns but I'm sure this will help add to the conversation.

  • I'm usually not judgemental but being gay is wrong. Even being a coward is wrong. I don't condone homosexuality or lesbianism. I don't allow homosexuals and lesbians in RBG. I don't even look at two fine women kiss each other. Being gay is a sexual disorder. In my opinion being consious is being on the right path. I really don't want to know their gay businesses. There is no gray,it's black and white, you know what I'm saying? Flat out. Sorry, sister I've got to be honest. Peace.

  • @rgbblackpower I hear what you're saying. I believe in living and letting others live. I am not gay, so to some extent, I can't relate. Some sexual acts seem unnatural to me, but aside from that, I try not to judge. I can work with anyone, as long as there is mutual respect and common purpose. I consider myself conscious. I read, research, and take an active interest in improving the current situation of those in my community and in the country as a whole. I don't conform to any group.

  • We could stand to take a good lesson from the gays. They unite in a way the black community refuses to. There's valid history to consider & deconstruct, but it's a sad reality in terms of what holds black Americans back. Gays deal with dissension among sects & divisiveness too, but they will ALL come together for what they consider to be their most essential causes. Too many so-called conscious black Americans waste their energy bickering over tedious topics that don't amount to a hill of beans.

  • @AllieEmet We're way too easily distracted. The gay community has successfully acquired and used their political capital, we need to take note, because marching is only good for the exercise.

  • I totally agree with you. I feel the exact same way. I may not agree with the lifestyle, but understand everyones right to be themselves as long as it doesn't inflict or impose on others. I don't really need to know see the over-the-top expressions of anyones sexuality, particularly, in family or work settings. I also don't feel it's appropriate for heterosexuals to makes sexual references around family or work settings. I also think there's a fine line between tolerance and indoctrination

  • @ManeChic Thank you. Love the soapbox YT provides.

  • @blacksncommercials Thank you for replying,it's about getting it out on the table. It's about speaking our minds. It's not about keeping it to ourselves. I believe in following the rules,it's not about taking away your freedoms,it's not about making people suffer,it's about protecting us from hurting ourselves or others. For an instance I love women but I can't go sleeping around b/c I'll get hurt. Rules are for protection. Thank you.

  • So you're saying people can be gay, but don't let you or your kids see it? People can be Black and gay and face discrimination from both angles, but don't mention gay when talking about Black struggles? I see Black-gay issues and a subset of Black issues, just as Black-female issues are a subset. Both groups are still Black. I don't like seeing Black men kiss either, but it exists. What's the point in burying your head in the sand? That would be like trying to be ignorant.

  • You broke it down. All the way down. Great video :)
