My guitar project. Buying guitar parts from all over and putting them together into a nice-looking and sounding strat-like electric guitar.

  • Basswood isn't necessarily the worst tone wood - it has its own characteristics. Jeff Becks favorite axe has a basswood body. For a while basswood Surh guitars were in vogue and fetching a high price. You can also find basswood on cheap import guitars. As for Plywood - Brian May's "Red Special" guitar is made primarily of pine plywood (British block board) with a mahogany veneer. There is no good wood / bad wood definitive - too many variables. Put sound over opinion and decide what YOU like.

  • @finndigg Very good comment! Thanks for watching.

  • basswood is the worst man!

  • @satjathamma I know it's not the best one but if you look around the web you'll see it's relatively good wood fr the price for electric guitars. In this case, I bought what was available at a good price in solid wood, not even sure it's basswood. It sounds good, though! Thanks for watching!

  • @satjathamma I agree with Finndigg, it's a matter of preference. I wanted to build a good cost / benefit guitar. At the price I paid for the body (~30 USD) I wouldn't be able to find anything with the sustain I wanted. And even though it was quite damaged, I was able to fix it, and it has the sunburst I wanted.

  • Plywood is the worst..

Basswood is light and balanced in tone and closes to alder but does dent easily. Like your head when i kick it in

tell Satriani, Vai and Gilbert Basswood is the worse.

  • @Realmetalriffs You can buy the separate parts and assemble. You could actually build even your own pickups, but I do not recommend for a start. Maybe a later project. You just need the right pots, capacitor, wires and a little soldering technique.

  • I just wanna know the electronic stuffs they put inside the electric guitar

can they be homemade for me,,

    can i build them???
