my dakota 4.7 off a stop kinda played with it off the start ... 3 people on board

How is this a 4.7? What year is it? It has the gauge cluster that is identical to my buddy's 98 which has the 5.2 318 Magnum. My understanding was the 3.9 v6, 5.2 v8, and 5.9 v8 were the engine's offered during that era dodge?

I out-run moded R/Ts with my 4.7 Club Cab, so it is all in what you do to it. Basically a stock internal engine with HO cams.  JBA shorty headers, full magnaflow exhaust setup. 2008 intake manifold, and Superchips 91 octane tune.

naw ive topped my 5.2 out a buck ten twice now, goin downhill u could push it even further i bet

the 4.7 can wrap out higher but in all of the dakotas ive seen and driven they are limited at 100 mph.....so no not really faster

i looked up the specks and it said the 318 was 230hp stock and the 4.7H.O was 250hp stock

no. other way around.

4.7 = 287

5.2 = 317 (i guess thats what you meant)

they're close in size. a 4.7 is 287ci. Although it's newer soit may possibly be a little faster. but it wouldn't be by much.
