I have to respectfully disagree with your view on gold bases Mr Bitter. I think if anything it actually increases the motivation for a mid game push. Also it creates a conflict point, specifically when only one player has the gold, and can help with comebacks. All create more entertaining games to watch. Now to play...that's different.

Synergy with anti-armored damage. Two fit perfectly in a warp prism and it's the strongest amount of units you can carry in a warp prism (other than double Archon, I suppose). Two Immortals can snipe damn near any building before the defender can react (depending on if he sees it coming). Can snipe add ons even if they do see it coming. Can snipe expansions incredibly fast. You can warp in zealots around them and have one helluva tough drop.
It just makes too much sense!

@Icix1 no one is going to huddle the archons together. emp has such a small radius it takes nearly 3 emps to negate the shield of 2 archons

That's why you get 4-5 ghosts and at least emp most of the army. Seriously that's some plat level skills right there, why don't you see this at pro level? Every good T I've seen always uses ghosts in TvP. Just seems a bit noob not to use EMP, it's like taking an army down to half hp with a few keystrokes.
