Perfect voice!!! Anneliese seems to sing this aria without any effort.

However I do not like the approach given to the character. Konstanze is ready to die or suffer any kind of torture but not give herself to the Pasha´s desire, and you canot sing that with a ear to ear smile and acting as if you were happy of that.

But this is just my opinion.

RIP Anneliese....she was a marvelous Mozart soprano; as well as a Lieder artist and a fabulous operetta soprano for several Strauss operettas. Her voice was always in great shape, even in her older age. Singing Konstanza was a pleasure to hear and she had all the right high notes, but I also find that her approach at her characterization is a little off. Anneliese was just more at home singing operetta or light lyric roles like Pamina in Zauberflote, which I find to be her all time best role.

Ich mag, klassische Musik ich mag keine Opernarien insbesondere die weiblichen stimmen nerven mich schnell auch wenn sie ausnehmend gut singen können...

Aber bei Frau Rothenberger war das anders diese Stimme war weder nervig noch genuschelt....

Eine der ganz großen ist da gegangen .... sie singt jetzt für die Götter...

In fairness to her, part of her "perfect voice" has to do with thea fact that she keeps everything in a rather high placement. And to do that she "smiles" not out of contentment, but as a technical aid to singing this fiendish piece.

Anneliese Rothenberger was one of the singers who un derstood the way things work.She had it all the Voice(for some parts) the technique and the looks....what a beautiful woman(with some help)a beautiful voice and the best Sophy EVER!
