here is the first segment of the Ndola/Kitwe Road. At first in order to enter or leave any town here, you must go through a Police Checkpoint.

  • When did they start this? I don't recall amy Checkpoints. I must echo hitchdalrymple's request for any clips of Kitwe. Anyway! Great post.

  • Hello Apple, I dont know, but they had checkpoints in and out of Kitwe and Ndola. This was on all roads going in/out of both cities.

  • my half brother James Brown lives in Ndola my dad bought a farm there after moving from Chingola to Ndola. I remember Chingola very well remember as a child seeing squashed snakes on the road left by being squashed by cars does that still happen? Its been years since I've been back to Zambia after returning to Scotland. This'll tell you how its been since i''ve been there President Kaunda was president of the country.

  • This vid has brought memorie of my home town ndola right from the Police checkpoint at Hilcrest,the dual carriage to the Monkey Fountain area,i lived just near the Zoo & went to the college just a few meters from the zoo itself.

  • Hahah! Nice to see Ndola again.. but i could hardly recall all these roads as i was 9 years old riding my Dad's fiat during our stay from 1981- 83 (to think we only stayed for 2years seemed like forever!) any shots from Gwembe Road? Cheers
