  • the 7 series is faster and handles better and a third of the price

  • You may think of older Rolls-Royce models where of course this would be true, however with the new one, this is plainly impossible.

The engine is a 6,749 cc 6.7 liters V 12 and it is very fast for a 3 tons saloon car

    Acceleration 0-60 mph 5.7 sec

    Acceleration 0-100 km/h 5.9 sec

Regarding the price tag, of course BMW's are cheaper, they are made in a day or 2, it takes months to build a Rolls-Royce

  • if you look at the book figures for a 760i its 5.3 second 0-60 so it is faster and a two ton bmw will out handle a rolls

    the latest 2008 750i hits 0-60 in 5.2

the next 760 will probably be a bi turbo v12 and have a sub 5 second 0-60 time

  • compare vehicules of same calibre please. Compare it with a Bentley or Maybach. BMW I am afraid is not in that league but will compare to a Mercedes-Benz. How on earth can you compare the 2? one has nothing to do with the other

  • firstly bmw OWN rolls royce so it is essentially a bmw product,

and i was merely pointing out that when you said the rolls royce was faster than the 760i you were wrong because it is infact slower

  • If you take 2 people one just as fit as the other and on one's back you put 5kg and on the other one your put 30kg and tell them RACE, which one will win? If the Rolls had the same weight as the BMW, your bemer would be in the dust, but as I said compare what is comparable. I had and still have quite a few Mercs and I have 1 Rolls and these cars aren't comparable at all, but I guess you will only know that the day you will own one!

  • German-owned Rolls-Royce. With lots of BMW parts in it. Land Rover was also owned by BMW in the mid 90s. "For the Rolls, ***BMW has developed*** a new V12, based on the architecture of the 6.0-litre V12 fitted to the new 760i, but with a shorter stroke and wider bore -- 84.6/92mm versus 89/80 -- to take the capacity out to 6749cc."

  • yeah i agree

  • I think your the idiot Range Rover and Lotus was created in britain and has been british for 70 years and now an indian owns the company its not british? The car is made and its HQ are in britain and as i was told the company which took land rover are not allowed to change any of the cars management or design.

  • It's only a car. Vodaphone, a British company, owns Mannesmann, Germany's biggest conglomerate.

They can have the car. We'll have their industry.
