Going over a Tokarev pistol mag that jams up when fully loaded. Same magazine issue that caused the pistol to fail to feed the first round when I was at the range.
As far as I can tell, it comes down to pistol lubrication and bent feed lips. This magazine will feed just fine with less then 8 rounds in it, because there's less spring pressure on the top-most round, but when fully loaded it will cross-up and jam into the mag. This is why in old war movies soldiers would slap their magazines against their helmet or palm, to make sure the rounds pop up all right.
The pistol actually feeds the round just fine when lubricated, but when fired after a long time without lube, it'll fail to strip off the top round unless I give the back of the slide a slap.
Lessons Learned-
1. Don't slam magazines as hard as possible.
2. Lube is good.
god the tt-33 is so similar to the 1911 in design its scary

Some of my mags also have some issues, however I ordered 10 at one time and only 7 were usable for my Polish Toka. The other 3 just didn't seem to fit right without wiggling and adjusting them a bit as I insert them. I too tap the mags on both sides sometimes (if) I need to, however mine are pretty good, i got them at a sale in Southern Ohio Gun.com for 7.95 a pop. When I first got them I had to work those damn hard springs to fit all 8, so I propably got them in unissued condition.
