Summer Wind first recorded by Wayne Newton in 1965 but is most known by Frank Sinatra which was released in 1966 in his album, Strangers in the Night.
Music: Henry Mayer
Lyrics: (By Johnny Mercer)

The summer wind came blowin' in
From across the sea
It lingered there to touch your hair
And walk with me

All summer long
we sang a song
And then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights
They went flying by
The world was new beneath the blue
Umbrella sky

Then softer than a piper man
One day, it called to you
I lost you I lost you to
The summer wind

The autumn wind
And the winter winds
They have come and gone
And still those days
Those lonely days
They go on and on
And guess who’s sigh`s
His lullabies through nights that never end
My fickled friend,
The summer wind
The summer wind warm summer wind
Mmm the summer wind

This song reminds of a time in my life when i thought having the biggest pool in the neighborhood would bring friends and popularity, and for a while it was as i had pictured it, but in the end . . . it all came crashing down around me. as i stood there with my shorts around my ankles, I start singing this song while staring into the sunset . . .

I remember this song from the movie The Pope of Grenwich Village. It was sung at the begining of the movie

Man - I can't believe there are some who actually voted thumbs down on this great song! Just what exactly do you like? Or is anything not released by Justin Bieber considered too old? Thankfully, you're outnumbered here more than 100:1 !

Echo - intent on looking inside the jobs columns for work. But something else caught his eye.

Advertised was a compition, a draw, the winner would spend a weekend in Las Vegas, and an evening, for two, spent watching “Frank Sinatra” perform!

The young Scouser was beside himself, being an avid Frank Sinatra fan, he cut out the compitition from the pages of the Echo. With shaking hands he sent off his own coupon in hope of maybe,… just a chance he could win, spend a weekend, away from his dismal life sat in a house on a council estate in L’pool.

But most of all watch Frank Sinatra perfom!

As the days, weeks and a month or two passed away. He dreamed of who he would take with if he won.

Surely, he dreamed laying in his bed at night before he slept, he would ask Maggie May, his dream girl if she would accompany him on this glorius but brief holiday, if he won the competition.

Eventually the draw was announced… the young Scouser won. He was estatic, beside himself! He would ask Maggie May if she would go with.

Maggie was a real Scally Wag(Slag) she sighed “anything to get out of L’pool” she thought to her self. “Okay!” she replied eyes fluttering, placing down her chip butty, she let the young Scouser kiss her on her lips.
