This was shot over a year ago, 2008-07-17, then my camera was a little more then a half year old and I just had to try out if it was water resistance as Nikon said.
This film was shot with a Canon IXUS and Sigma 10-20mm lens mounted on the camera.

  • As its not clear in the movie nor in the description,

The camera works perfectly fine after this, did use it over 1,5 year.

I then bought a D700 and no I have not tested that in the same way, and I probably wont either, because its pretty much the same house as D300 and should be able to withstand about the same amount of water, right. Haha

  • You are a fool for doing this, D300 is water proof only with Nikon professional lens! Sigma 10-20 is consumer lens, is not weatherproof! Be careful, seal between the camera and the lens is not perfect, in addition the lens could get damage. Read your lens manual first!

  • But if everything would be perfectley sealed. Then it would be no use to test it. Then it should resist with out any problem. Now there was a variable. The lens.

And btw try reading the manual for you camera.

  • who the fuck would do that??? is the camera alright???

  • Some retard, at least not me...

  • Yes yes, everything works ok, havent had any water related problem with it after that. Acctually not anny problem at all,it is a nice camera.

  • My Nikon D200 and my Sigma 10-20mm have been sooked on several occations! They are truly waterproof, not the D200's grip though... :(

  • @petarSLO Not counting all the Pentax camera bodies that are weather sealed, I'm pretty sure the 1D-bodies of Canon and top Nikon cameras are weather sealed as well (but they still need weather sealed lenses to be protected so things don't get into the bodies via the lens).

  • @granden A SLR camera can't be water proof if the lens isn't. Water could come in through lens.. If you say this is not how it is with the Nikon D300, please show me where Nikon says that.

  • my heart is bleeding... WHY AR U DOING THIS???

  • @sgdevilzz i saw one of them a couple of days ago here at the uk

  • now try the washing machine

  • Your D300 may have survived but your Sigma will be dead sooner or later; not instantly but with moist that stayed inside.

  • Your lens is not nikon pro. That means it's not weather proof. Retard
