@UDSS, Nahh, you're the petty person. Republic of Vietnam was a puppet state and it died 36 years ago along with the withdrawal of the US' military, so deal with it already. Economic wise, the leaders and/or the Vietnamese people can do whatever they see fit for themselves. The OFFICIAL name of the country can be real or symbolic and it doesn't really matter. The real matter is VN is an independent country right now. That's all that matters to the VNmese.

In the end the Stalinists betrayed the Vietnamese workers. You need to be an anticommunist idiot if you think that Vietnam was ever socialist. That nation was never a genuine socialist nation. The workers never controlled anything.

The stalinists of the communist party ruled on the classic Stalinist program until 1986. After that year they reintroduced capitalism. Stalinism always ends in capitalism, Leon Trotsky knew this in 1936, he was right.
