  • This is one of the best car I have driven. The most affordable and yet fun to drive. Thanks for uploading it! Hafiz from Singapore

  • I'd like to see Quentin Wilson wrapped around a bus shelter in Nagasaki.

  • @StripeyMiata I'd rather see Kate Humble wrapped around my face.

  • Funny looking back at the scare stories surrounding imports back in the early 2000's. Now have a look on the MX5 websites and see the UK Mk1's selling for less than the imports as 90% of them are far rustier than their import twins.

  • Mmmm, Kate Humble's badger watch.

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 There is no way of telling the history of the car, whether it has been in a serious smash & bodge repaired and the milage genuine, plus the car doesn't comply with EU specs and has to be modified to suit, (no rear foglights,Km/h speedometers,ECU software different) and they do not have as good anti corrosion protection either.. High spec or not, that is why grey imports are worth nowhere near as much.

  • @whoohaaXL There out there. There is just not that many of them and most of them don't run if they are going for that much.

  • @seroyer2 I don't see how that's possible...I haven't seen one for under $2000

  • hah, Eunos = less rust and sporty bits on some models.

Mx5 = rusty bucket, "mostly anyways by this time". You have to wonder which holds its value more these days. overall the car has the same major parts. No point in arguing over where it was made (same factory) but more so of how long its been in soggy old england.

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 Well it's not the same, is it? You've never been able to buy a uk mx-5 in full eunos spec. Weather its a badge or an engine makes no difference - they're NOT the same.

For what it's worth there are also differences in the spec, instruments, diff, suspension set up (on some cars), emissions and loads of other bits.

At a glance they're the same but there are many differences. If two girls looked the same you woudln't say they're the same if one had a cock would you?

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 Well you're wrong on most points in that lot.

They are all imports but that doesn't mean they're a uk model. A grey import is a model which the maker did not bring over here. A eunos is not an mx-5. It's similar in almost every way but it's still not one. If it were an mx-5 but sold in japan it would be called a parallel import. The differences in spec alone could be the reason it has a different badge but you may find other things like the warning stickers different.
