Thanks a lot James, I've been trying to figure out this song for over thirty years !! It's the greatest crowd pleaser !!

Thanks. Playing by ear is good.I'm too lazy to read notes.

James, not to nitpick but your chords are wrong. It's actually a C9 (C7 plus D) and you need to hit the both the Bb and the A at the end of both chords and not just play 2 notes at the end.
Also, the walkdown is wrong as well. You don't play chords but simply a 2-note interval for each step: A & F (omit C), G & Eb (omit Bb), F & D (omit A), and most importantly, Eb & B (no G or C) to E & C. That phrase slurs up and not down ala a Booker T vibe. Try it out.

dankenton - thanks for the tips. I just figured it out by ear, I thought that D might be in there - but C7 and C9 are really pretty much the same thing with the added color.
On the walkdown, I wasn't sure if the 5th was there, but it doesn't need to be (again 5th just add color, no tonality). Thanks for the post and constructive suggestions =)
