My Santa Fe EMD F7 A-B-B-B-A Unit broke down in San Bernardino while playing a journey, so a Southern Pacific Alco PA-1 A-A Unit had to jump in and help out for the last miles to Los Angeles.
Both PA-1 and streamliner cars are from Märklin. The PA-1 is made out of metal, the streamliner cars are made out of aluminium. Interior lighting is installed in all cars exept the 2 baggage cars, but it´s turned off in the video. The cars are no prototypical Super Chief cars, for example the dome car and the dining car were originally California Zephyr cars, restyled into Santa Fe cars by myself. You can see 2 coaches in that train, which of course was not the case on the real Super Chief. The only reason for 2 coaches being on my Märklin Super Chief is the fact that by the time I started buying these cars I didn´t know that the Super Chief was an all sleeper train. Now I know it, but I still decided to keep these 2 coaches on the train, since I don´t want to miss them and I think they look good. Instead of a RPO I have a second baggage car. The baggage barber shop buffet lounge and dormitory lounge cars are also missing on my Super Chief, because Märklin never produced these 2 car types (as well as the RPO), so my Super Chief has only 11 cars instead of 13.
Here is my consist:
1. & 2.: Baggage
3. & 4.: Coach
5. 10-6 Sleeper
6. Pleasure Dome Lounge
7. Diner
8. to 10.: 10-6 Sleeper
11. Sleeper Lounge Observation
