Winter is back and So are the cold starts. Old Yeller is having a hard time this year. I think the ignition switch is going out. I have several electrical problems that all have the switch in common. I geuss that is the next repair I need to do.

  • If I lived closer to u, I would b tryn 2 trade u out of OLD YELLER. I think She is an AWESOME OLD BEAST!!!!!! Unfortunately, southern OHIO IS A LITTLE 2 FAR AWAY!!! Just My Luck!!!!!

  • @colljo7 I would recomend a road trip but you would have to pry the truck from my wife's cold dead fingers to get it.

  • Thats not the 350 turned diesel is it?

  • @nitehawk85 You are thinking about the 5.7 liter diesel. Many people think it was a converted gas 350. Although it was a purpose built engine built for diesel, it my as well have been a converted gas engine as it did not even make a good boat anchor. It was a poor design and was responsible for turning off most of Americans to diesels for a long time. Had GM produced a quality diesel engine from the start we would probably be driving mostly diesels now.

  • @nitehawk85 it's the 6.2 diesel

  • What year is this truck, it's pretty cool

  • Corvair wild can help you out.he has a barn full of 6.2

  • Awesome truck !

But it could definitely use a shot of ether to start, or some new glowplugs...

  • well your coffee got cold.........

  • @KeeperofTheMountain Yep, My Great uncle Hubert had one in his truck.. It was beautiful, but mechanically it was a nightmare! Its almost like GM was playing "junkyard wars" and had to come up with a diesel fast and could only use what was available. lol.. Nice truck though! I have always been partial to that body style. I have a " krylon camo" 88' Suburban 4x4 with a "fuel neglected" 350 in it at the moment.. That could change.. Its a basket case but I love it!

  • @crankitandfloodit im pretty shure a diesel doesn't have a carb hahahahah

  • @nitehawk85 no the 6.2l diesel wasn't a converted oldsmobile 350, it was a detroit diesel made engine when gm and detroit where partners i guess
