@deanml116 that might be a bug :T

How did you manage the fish tank?
-
Tried putting a fireplace in the BEDROCK basement of my house, only to have the grass blocks above light on fire THROUGH THE BRICK FIREPLACE and the catch the wood walls of the floor above it on fire. So yea, it doesn't matter how high the block are above the fire or if there is any blocks between, it'll still light up

@Mr360zack just run redstone by the netherrack and connect it to the pressure pad
-
@Mr360zack it's non-tested, so dont get angry if it doesnt work :P just an idea i had
-
I've never tried this. Place the netherrack for your fire Now leave on space behind it, and put a stair or any non-flammable block(eg. workbench) Behind that put a sticky piston Then below the empty space in between the stair and your netherrack, dig down 2 blocks. Place another netherrack then light it on fire. Then hook up the piston to the pressure plate. Now in theory, the fire should attempt to spread to the stair, but as it cant, it lights the block next to it. Hope this works.

@Mr360zack maybe pistons to cover the fire but not light it up
