Concluding ceremony of officers of Air Defence Staff Course-47 - December 19, 2009

Concluding ceremony of officers of Air Defence Staff Course-47 was held at Army Air Defence School Malir Cantonment. Corps Commander Lieutenant- General Shahid Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion. While congratulating the officers on successful completion of their course Lieutenant General Shahid Iqbal dilated upon the need of continuous quest for seeking latest technology and called for adoption of pro-active approach by officers in planning and employment of various weapons' systems. He also gave away medals to the outstanding student officers. Major Tauqir being overall best officer of the course was awarded Ehsan Medal. Major Faisal received Colonel Commandant's Medal for securing second position in the course. In research category, the research paper of Major Rashid was adjudged the best research work of the course and he was awarded Commandant's Medal. A total of 30 student officers underwent the course including three allied officers from Libya, Nigeria and Turkmenistan. Earlier, a convocation ceremony was also held at the School of Army Air Defence, where degrees of MSc. (Military Science) were awarded to the student officers. Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi Professor Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, awarded the degrees. Nothing offensive but I want to share an honest opinion with you salmansignals that Corps Commander Lieutenant- General Shahid Iqbal gives a very passive and defeatist impression. He looks like a retired University professor.A general must look like a general like the great Geaneral Pervez Musharraf.
