Abandoned dogs shot then dumped in holes.It might all be legal in New Zealand for now, but that it's just not the right way to treat man's best friend.

For the past years, Whangarei District Council dog control Keith Thompson Dog Pound Manager has been shooting dogs and dumping them into mass graves, and he didn't have much of a problem with it. It's routine practice in Whangarei District and many other Districts in New Zealand. After dog control puts a bullet in your pet's head, it's tossed into a mass grave. )
After it was revealed on TV3 that the forest was used as a disposal area for dogs shot by the Council's pound. The TV3 expose found that many of the holes (some 5m deep) were open and posed a danger and health risk.

"Whangarei District Council", started shooting the animals and placing their dead bodies in mass graves. That you would think was only in place in Third World nations.In most "civilised countries" law requires animals that die or are killed be disposed of in 2 ways within 24 hours by either being buried or burned. Feeding dead Pets or livestock to swine is prohibited because it could pass disease and pose a health threat to humans.
A country should be ashamed of itself because there should be people caring enough to "do something about it."
Through exposure the truths about neglect and abuse from animals, we hope to bring awareness to all animals lover in New Zealand.

DON'T say YOU LOVE ANIMALS until you can face the truth about animal cruelty and are willing to be a voice for them. Please understand...We are their only hope!!!

This is a disgrace to mankind. God created all living creatures to roam freely as they fell. We don't shoot overcrowded areas of people so animals shouldn't be treated any differently.  This world has some messed up minds!

why not use a furnace like used to burn bio hazard wastes faster disposal and no mess no smell and you do not leave any thing behind just ash a lot faster than digging a hole no unwanted attention to animal control and shooting a animal will attract a lot of people

It is unbelievable that in this day and age this is actually happening!... never mind the health risks... this is just simply inhumane! I would be mortified to find out that some stranger took my dog out, lined it up and shot it... then through it in a hole to rot! Lethal injection should be the ONLY way. It is fast and you can have a vet come to the pound. Most other pounds around the country kill via lethal injection so why should they be any different! You are just heartless scum!
