Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Gene Brewer

Of course he is an alien. Thats is well established right from the beginning in the train station when the beggar says "he apeared out of nowhere." Prot incarnates Robert Porter. Dog encouter, astronomy knowledge, Bess desapearing, Prot's travel to north and desapearing... wahat do you want more... The only catch is the similarity of the names. Duuuuu... He invented his Earth name in homage to Porter or is just a coincidence. But Brewer maybe wanted to give a chance to ceptics, fiction wise.

Doesn't matter, if he is alien or not. This film makes people think deeper inside! Which is good. We are too busy and forget what is really important. I love this film - genious screenplay, actors, music, camera, direction. Big applaus.
