I am proud to say that I was a member of the 1st Bn The Royal Regiment of Wales (24th-41st). I am extremely proud indeed of taking part in the Cardiff Searchlight Tattoo in 1979 which was the Centenery celebrations. Gwell Angau Na Chwyllydd -
this is stupid. the us and britain are allies. stop playing the blame game. using stereotypes about peoples weight and intelligence is simply low. in regards to native americans, i wouldnt mind sitting on my ass all day getting govt checks and ripping people off in casinos, and africans and indians who bitch about the british should realize they wouldnt understand how to bitch without being educated by the brits in the 1st place. im american and i have no issues with tony blair or thatcher
@Gustaveleloup america had the issue of disunity in regards to slavery. our nation was built on the industrialization of populated sectors of the nation. slavery may have lined the pockets of southern plantation owners but the america you see today in all of its modernization had nothing to do with slavery, but more to do with big business
@esh325 In the 1980 United States Census, over 49 million (49,598,035) Americans claimed English ancestry, at the time around 26.34% of the total population and largest reported group which, even today, would make them the largest ethnic group in the United States
@esh325 Right you are. I am originally from New York. Both my mothers ancestors and my fathers came to america from England in the mid 17th century. Both families also had the distinction of being loyalists during the american revolution. Because of this, they lost all of the land holdings on long island after the revolution. My younger sister has just completed an exhaustive search of our family tree that dates to the mid 14th century in england. Am I proud, yes indeed!
@NOVATICANWARS It *might* have been sung days before the battle, as the British army crossed into Zululand. The regimental song of the 24th Foot would have been "Warwickshire Lad" anyway.
