An informal Chinese Tea Ceremony performed by a Hakka (Ke Jia) tribal minority woman in Shenzhen, southern China. The Hakka people are the so-called "boat people" of China. After centuries of persecution by other folks, they have literally been pushed off the land to live destitute lives on boats off the coast of southern China. People like this enterprising woman recently enjoy success in a modern China that is more tolerant of its indigenous peoples.

  • I guess this goes back to how one defines "minority". In the sense that these people have been treated pretty poorly is the sense of "minority" I speak of.

  • dont be too judgmental brandon. your president aint stupid.

  • wonder why they were so camera shy? i personally dont think Chinese get the credit they deserve. we rely on them so much for 98% of what we have in the states.

  • I thought Hakkas are part of the Han Chinese population? How are they considered a minority?
