Maria Louise Moore is an artist who works with encaustic wax. This is an ancient method of painting with molten pigmented beeswax, using heated tools such as flat irons, stylii, hot-air guns and hot-plates. This method of painting creates wonderfully vibrant and imaginitive paintings.

Maria is known for her fantasy paintings, particularly fairies and dragons, and regularly exhibits them in her local area.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the compliment. I was going to do some tutorial videos at one point but never got round to it. I'm actually having a hiatus from painting for the moment but hope to get back to it as soon as I am able. My only advice for now iif you are learning to paint with encaustics is to practice, practice, practice!

  • I adored this, I watched it again linked up to a large screen LCD televison and was blown away - you are very talented.

  • Many thanks!
