"Used your affliction in your stage act" ?? As if he could have waved a wand and made it disappear? I don't think the interviewer was deliberately trying to be a prick, but he sure comes off as as one. GV does sound a little removed (no surprise given that he was a few day away from death) but he handles the interviewer's gaffes pretty calmly. This is one of the more intriguing interviews I've seen; thanks for posting it.

Saw him lots of times in England , my brother ,his mates and myself went many miles on crappy old motorcycles to see him . Had a real talk to him once in Blackpool ,on the pier when he and other big name rock n rollers came in the cafe . But the only one willing to talk ,at length and give autographs was Gene . Much missed !.

Gene sure got the measure of this interviewer,and played him at his own game.Gene comes across as a thoughtful humble man ,who has been there and done it and seen it all,God bless him.
