@langwmu93 I see you live under a rock by the way. America is in the middle of making Gay marriage legal. 7 states and counting. Ellen just made JC Penny a boatload of money because of her one million moms fan club. I just found a couple of Churches who have Gay flags hanging in front close by me. The Gay prides in every state are more fabulous as the years go by. America didn't cave in, it's opening it's arms to Gays and Lesbians. Better move to Iran, for now.

@maxroachtribute No, I mean "retarded", as in... the Kardashian family. The entire cast of Jersey Shore. The entire cast of any Big Brother show regardless of which country it was produced in. Paris Hilton. Kanye West.
Y'know? "Retarded".

@langwmu93 I didn't put you in a bisexual bracket, you did. I know who I am and I have straight friends who know who they are. No one says it's a choice anymore unless they are bisexuals. You are just one who hates his gay side. It doesn't matter what hate and disgust you put in your comments, you made your personal opinion here yourself and admitted to being a bisexual. When you said it's a choice,it is a choice, for you. Bisexual. It isn't an insult to Bi's or to me or to people who don't care

@dcjam12 As stated, it appears there is a bias towards Israelites in these matters. There are many guidelines and restrictions about israelites becoming slaves but these rules don't appear to apply to Gentiles.
I believe this is the source of the conflicted message.
-
@Dcjam12 Following on from the mixed messages, Lev 25:44-46 seems to directly contradict the edict set out in Ex 21:16. This states that it's fine to buy people: "...slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves."
It goes on to state that these slaves can be slaves 'for life.'
So who do we go with? Leviticus or Exodus 21:16? Why is God so confused on the matter?
-
@dcjam12 I understand there are passages in the OT that appear to stand against slavery. But, for example, in the same Exodus 21:7 it speaks of a father selling his daughter as a slave.
And all this still doesn't address the fact that the bible condoned the taking of people during war and using them as slaves. Deut 20:10-15 is particularly odious as it encourages the taking of women and children as spoils.
So, being generous, the bible sends out mixed messages on slavery. Why is this?

@pitster110 Actually, you're a dumbass and should educate yourself better. There is not a shred of evidence to suggest that every homosexual in the world is doing it by choice. Every piece of evidence indicates that it's genetic. That is not an opinion but a FACT.
-
@langwmu93 Actually it's not, but thanks for playing. I suggest you put the fiction books down (the Bible) and read the non-fiction ones (science).

I couldn't get a woooooord of what she was saying. O.O
@pitster110 Wrong, check in with any science-based medical association. Sexual orientation is not a choice. However, being a bigot is.

@vikingvoicesstud: Viruses don't have sexual orientation. Worldwide many more heteros have HIV than gays. And lesbians have the lowest STD rate of any group, so support marriage for GLBT.
