Imagine if there were a simple shot to sterilize male dogs and cats rather than surgery! Shelters could finally get ahead of the overpopulation problem, and euthanasia rates would go down. Well, there IS one! Last year Parsemus Foundation's director got to witness demonstrations of an injectable sterilization for male dogs and cats. Unlike the other injectable being developed, it knocks out testosterone -- and thus some of the roaming, packing, fighting, and associated dog bites that are a main reason for doing male sterilization in animals. Parsemus Foundation is working with the researchers to gather, present, and publish additional data on this new option that would mean more humane sterilization for dogs and cats. See the "Nonsurgical dog sterilization- Males" page on our website for more information. We don't have enough money to develop it on our own, so please spread the word if you would like shelters and animal-lovers to have a simpler, less expensive, more humane alternative to surgery!
