Danpoteete- I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. Even one TV channel takes up far *FAR* more space than all the wireless mics you ever saw put together --and they're talking about some other part of the entire spectrum, many times bigger than that.
What you're suggesting is like saying sipping a glass of water will dry up the lake. Not even faintly remotely close.

For years the music industry has used this band for wireless microphones,and has co-existed with the television industry. now big money wants to cripple the music industry taking up all of this freq. spectrum for the use of wifi, with absolutely no mention to us it will render all the equip in our industry useless, funny how they forgot to mention that, think about that the next time you see a concert, broadway show, symphony performance, or even a newscaster that is wearing a wirless lapel mic.

I'm not really seeing the problem with kids not having access to the internet away from school personally. They have textbooks with the information they need, we spend lots of tax dollars to ensure that. I'm convinced I would have had a better education if my school district used computers (and a few other technologies) less, and I'm fairly tech savvy.
It seems to me recreational activities at playgrounds would probably make for a healthier child than being on the internet in a library.
