The answer to everybodies question.... It is called a "Thermador Car Cooler" sometimes referred to as a "swamp cooler". You fill it with WATER not ice. Inside is a blanket material that gets wet when you pull the draw string cord that is inside the car. The air from outside blows through the wet blanket and cools the air down that is going into the cabin. They only work in very dry climates. They don't work where I live but I still have one. They look bad ass!

I've heard them called swamp boxes. I'm pretty sure you put ice in it and as you drive the air flows through the ice, thus reducing the temp of the air, then it flows into the car. Its an early fourm of ac.

@scottypimpin62 It's called a bee catcher. Basically, it's a scoop that vents the air into the interior through the passenger side window. Old school air conditioning :)

you can buy them. I think they are Fiberglass, but you can make them also.
