I WISH EVERY RAPPER COULD HERE THIS before they started rhyming....it seems like a lot of these rapper don't understand what art is or meant for. They serving up garbage on a daily thinking it's food.

You're fighting battles that I cba to fight (I'm at fault with that) with a method that I cringe at. I don't know what it is about poems but they just get under my skin and make me wanna get away. Atleast try and disguise the 'emotion' and the message with a beat... I know that that's exactly one of the points you're speaking out against (the stripping of meaning from songs), I guess we just fundamentally disagree on that. Good luck with your life

Why are you guys picking at the title instead of listening to this beautiful poem and the all the messages she is trying to tell? She touches on so much more than Rap vs Hip Hop. She talks about profanity in the media, the degradation of women and classic old songs, the actions of some rappers who are "role models", the self-diminishing words and actions of black people. How many of you, who never got past the title, heard any of that?
