Mr.Rajapajse does not seem to be a reasonable person in this interview. He seems to believe, that because he's the president whatever he does is always right. He does not provide reasons for suppressing free speech in his country. He seems to have views similar to that of a dictator's.

Even today in 2010 murder and abductions go on under Rajapakse regime. This time the victims are Sinhalese. He should be hauled before a crimes tribunal . The war hero General Sarath Fonseka is held illegally and the supporters of his party are being harrassed, arrested or killed by the Police which is under Rajapakse .
