When the mint is ready to be harvested, it gets chopped up and taken to the distillery where the oil is extracted with steam. It is a labor-intensive and potentially dangerous proces.
But, the moon is almost full, the air is filled with the scent of mint and there is a sense of exitement on the Crosby Mint Farm. This is the 98th harvest on the oldest continiously family operated mint farm in the country, and today, people gather, friendships are formed, relationships built and the faith is kept.
