@operationcwaI789789 Just a FYI.The F-111 Does not have ejection "seats". The entire forward cockpit area is a modular capsule fired off with rockets. There are small control surfaces at the forward wing root area that give the capsule limited maneuvering capability. Needless to say the F-111 was an aircraft WAY ahead of it's time. Inertial navigation system, "swing wings", mach 2.5 + capability and terrain following radar all made this aircraft a pioneer in advanced aviation in the 1960's.

I was there doing a delivery to Amberly when this happened.... awesome to see it again.
Btw, that plane DID fly again, I saw her being repaired a month later while I was taking some sound proof doors to the base for a building extension that was being done, the hanger they were fixing her in was right next to where the building work was being done.
