this meerkat is "Flat-Ears" (Plattohr), all-time #2 behind dominant male Jolly Roger, who sadly died in December 2008. Whether Flat-Ears will take over as new dominant male cannot be confirmed yet... surprisingly it seems that he is showing relatively little interest. Perhaps 4 years of punishment by the dominant have dragged him down...
