@MyRideisMe erm if the guy was that much of a pro he would apply pressure evenly on what ever hes using as his filler spreader ......not leave massive drag marks from where hes pushing to hard on one side ....

@TroubleDouble123 In order to know that you would need to know the type of body filler he is using the conditions he is using it and years of experience. Gotta love these keyboard warriors who think they can tell guys who have been doing this for years and years how its done. I was a professional prep person who worked along side guys like this and even with them doing the same job in a pinch and I wouldn't presume to say that.

@CaseyMcLaughalot Yes but for a restoration and real beat up panels its kind of different and for some older cars this is the only way to get the panels flat. You need some bondo, several primer coats and metal glaze to get this old panels looking good.Less beat up cars obviously require less body work.

Actually this guy is doing it right. It is NOT a drywall putty knife. Auto-body suppliers sell metal spreaders and plastic spreaders...metal ones push the filler material into the panel tighter than a plastic one. You can use filler on an entire panel because it will fill minor scratches and imperfections.

What's wrong with you? I'm not bragging at all! I don't own a car worth more than $300k, but there are alot of custom cars that cost way more than $300k (and they don't fly). How's that bragging? Normally, you're right, you wouldn't use this much filler, but you can't pound out a dent in fiberglass!

@TroubleDouble123 thats not a drywall putty knife its a metal filler spreader, i have the same one at work. do YOU know what you are talking about? when straightening a large wavy suface with filler, you add filler, cheese file and block. theres no problem with this vid.

i can give you what you want a scoop of filler and a strip of catalyst

@TroubleDouble123 Plastic and medal is more of a prefrence, plastic is better for curved areas or lines as it bends around the area, and yah its a filler not a coating lol
No offense to anyone on here but this is not the proper way to apply bondo at all. First of all you don't use a metal drywall putty knife to apply bondo you use plastic bondo spreaders. But most important of all you never ever put this much on one panel. Bondo isn't a coating, it's a filler. This is a cheap quick way to get a panel to look perfect but it will crack within months of the application. No one use this video as a guide unless you want serious paint inssues in the future.

This guy is a pro and typically works on cars more expensive than a house. Since you don't know any of the details, your comment doesn't apply.
In general, this may be too much, but the panel was glass and in very bad shape.
I'll be looking for your video.
