@ultimateSRT4 Very true every car has its dumbass owners who want to be like Vin Diesel and put a 5' spoiler on it with a 7" exhaust. because they think it will give them 400hp more. But I never said you accused me of having a riced out dsm. I was just saying that "My car is not a transformer nor a rolling disco"
-
@HKarmyGuy I never accused you of having a riced out DSM. I simply stated that Ive seen many of them here. Huge wings, horrible paint jobs, 4" exhaust but no real performance upgrades. As I said I like DSM's and are great cars when not riced out. Every car has some dumb owners that rice them out, Ive seen SRT4's with major ricing. Now I get you are A DSM lover but I have proven my Original point that the SRT4 still keeps its title as "fastest under $20,000".

@HKarmyGuy Again I mean no disrespect to a great car. Those eclipse's, talon's and laser's have a lot of potential and Ive always liked them. I almost got one once. But they don't have the performance to take this title I'm sorry.

@HKarmyGuy SRT-4's factory boost level is between 13-16 depending on weather. But boost levels are irrelevant, I'm talking about peak power and performance. Srt-4 was rated at 230hp, but many made that to the wheels on a dyno completely stock. There is about a 15% drive-train loss, so real HP is around 250ish. the turbo eclipse was rated at around 210hp. Stock srt-4 1/4mi is 13.8 seconds, 1995 eclipse GSX 1/4mi is 14.9. And Ive seen many "riced" DSM's here in jersey not pretty.

@HKarmyGuy My DSM is neither a rolling disco nor a Transformer. The only appearance mods I require are functional suspension, wheels and a nice wash and wax.
Always tasteful.
Always subtle.
Always in the lead...
DSM FTW
4 cylinders, 3 diamonds, 2 liters, 1 DSM

@HKarmyGuy I believe there are two types of cars on the road today: DSMs and everything else. Everything else should fear the DSM marque. I believe we all share the same love for our DSMs and I will support any DSMer who demonstrates intelligence and respect for his DSM brothers and sisters, regardless of powerplant.

I am a DSM purist. I believe that a DSM should be built to out-perform any other car on the street and command the respect of other tuners.
-
@ultimateSRT4 DSM's can boost 15-16 stock. And I don't know anyone who has a riced out DSM.
-
@HKarmyGuy Cool, then it fits into the price range if that was for the turbo model. (although if you account for inflation it might be just a little over, but lets not argue over economics.) but still was slower stock vs stock. DSM's are really nice cars when set up right and not riced out. But again the SRT-4 is the king of the "$20,000 or less" cars.

@ultimateSRT4 I believe the 90 Laser was $19,500
well I'm all for taking care of your car and not driving like a maniac but you have to realize that this is what the car was built for, too perform. now I will admit that a lot of kids to push it a bit too far and that's why you see so many totaled, but as long as you take care of it this car can take it. but this vid is just a tribute to show what this car is capable of, and in my eyes if you buy a sports car and don't drive it like it was built to drive then you wasted your money.

@MARTIN01152 supras are fast no question but the reason why this car is loved (and hated by some) is because it is fast AND cheap. and with the money difference between a supra and an SRT-4 you can add a big turbo kit and built block and beat a stock or lightly modded supra. supra is still one of my favorite cars tho so cool if you actually own one
