Somewhere on the evolutionary path of life, man came to think of himself as detached from nature, and nature must be controlled for the benefit of man. Carlo Petrini argues that this view of man's role in nature is wrong.
At 4:44 when Mr Petrini starts talking about the Mad Cow Disease, Mr Kumming is translating incorrectly. Mr Petrini sarcastically says the British scientists had the brilliant idea of feeding cows with a flour based on minced goat meat. They saw no wrong in feeding a ruminant with meat.

The answer is, when it became profitable to exploit nature, that is when the paradigm shifted. Rather than relying upon nature for our sustenance, we found out how to make it work for us. No longer good stewards of the blessings we have been bestowed with, and the dilemma is quite obvious. We are probably going to starve to death. With monsanto monopolizing the seed market and spreading their GMO crops all throughout the world, contaminating natural strains with terminator genes.
