Okay haha. Sooo my show is in two weeks... we thought it was in four. I have three lessons this week and four next week. Im going to be SO wiped out and exhausted. But It'll definitely be worth it.\

This is Valentine, AKA Val, and she is one fiesty mare! Shes still a bit green, which you can see in the video. Definitely not our best together, but oh well. It was really windy out. I couldnt hear a thing my trainer was saying, and Val felt like doing other things :P
She has a tendency to really fight against you after jumps/poles, which you also see when I go out from between the two jumps. Pretty much my fault, not totally hers, though my trainer did say val likes to just mess with you.
She over jumps quite a bit, so we gotta work on that. I gotta work on staying solid on her after jumps.
Im taking her to the show, because my trainer feels we'd do best together, but Im not too comfortable with this all yet haha. Emotionally, I dont like jumping Val. We shall see.

  • You call that jumping those poles are on the ground, I've only been riding for one year and I can jump higher than that!

  • @Rocky70091 Ive been riding for 11 years, jumping for over half of them, and have jumped around 4ft. Excuse us, but this is an EXTREMELY stubborn horse, and it takes quite a bit to get her to go straight to a jump, let alone jump at all. We decided it would be safer to start her over ground poles at the beginning of the lesson. I didnt get video of the actual jumping. When I went to show her, we couldnt get her to even WALK over a ground pole, with no one on her back. I couldnt get her to do it

  • @Rocky70091 and our best rider couldnt get her to do it. Dont be judgmental over one video, and one horse.

  • It will help If you really sit farther back and dont lean forward so much :) I learned that the hard way... ^^^ Not to be taken offensivally at all! You are a great rider.

  • @RCPONYproductions Thanks for the advice! Don't worry, none taken :] I appreciate the advice. Its just so difficult sometimes because I ride in hunt seat, so your supposed to be out of the saddle like that, so when I jump, Theres no 2-point to go into because when in the hunt seat, your partially already in it, which makes it even more difficult to prevent falling off if your horse refuses :P I learned THAT the hard way. Time to pull out the body armour hahaa.

    Thanks :]
