James Kalm has admired and respected the work of Regina Bogat for years. This small selection of recent paintings presents works from Bogat's "Star" series. Melding an inquiry of the geometry of star images with an unrestrained painterlyness these pictures, upon contemplation, unfold to reveal a realm of evocative spatial relations and color harmonies. This program includes an extended interview with the artist Regina Bogat.

So I liked Regina's paintings - all I got to hear about were the big boys she knew... not her work.
hence the title? Stars

loved the rothko/reinhardt background personal info...the idea of a 'sunny' rothko with a hero and fifth of rye packed under his arm ready to do battle with the sublime is so visually rich...terrific paintings and dig the hurdy gurdy dude as well...much appreciation...

I was thinking if I could possibly obtain one of her very fine paintings which would it be, and I couldn't choose--I love them all! Thanks so much for talking to her for us.

color is magic. these are sophisticated in every way. this is the kind of painting that comes from a familiarity with the heritage of painting and its trajectory. great work! pure painting poetry!!! and love.....absolutely love your commentary on these.
