i didnt because it was to big of a piece to boil. it turned my tank chocolate brown for a month but eventually all the brown went away with frequent water changes. i'd recomend boiling the driftwood if you can it would save alot of work

@efixeated thanks I found it while out fishing It was old and dried out along the shore but I sure am happy I took it home.

nice set up! no way thats a 55gal tho? i have one and its to bi to be able to fit in a camrea screen?

yep its a 55 but its a different dimension than the regular. Its really thick but not vary long. I liked it because I could fit bigger drift wood in it and still have swimming lanes for oscar.
