John Cornyn Worried About the Census Being Politicized

John Cornyn suddenly worried about the fairness of how the census is done if it's moved away from his buddy Judd Gregg at Commerce. After what the Republicans did in his home state of Texas this is pretty rich.

Heh, "Big Bad John" Cornyn doesn't seem so big and bad these days. He's worried - and he needs to be. If you take a look at how the voting districts were sliced up in Texas, it's clear he doesn't mean "one person one vote" - he means the concentrated, focused denial of any Democratic block of voters.

What the Republicans want is to get rid of the Census so they can deny whatever they wish and nobody can refute them.

This is bullshit and Cornyn knows it. Commerce Dept. is PART of the executive branch which means they work for Obama anyway. This is just Obama's people being cc'd on the report...that's not politicization, that's the President taking an interest in what his cabinet is doing.

Obviously comparing this to just about anything Bush/Cheney did in terms of politicization is nuts but even on it's own it's very weak and, like I said, Cornyn knows this.

Just sounds like because the transparency measures hes put into place are run by another department, he wants it sent to be put online in that site he put up.

A central information location for important data, and census is very important considering how much is calculated from it.
