Wherever you travel round the world you don't have to go far before you encounter Bob Marley. On the radio, in cafe's and bars. On T-Shirts, Posters, Coffee Mugs etc. He has become one of the true global icons. His music, image and ethos is universal.
While everyone knows his classic hits, collated on the ubiquitous Legend album, his back catalogue is immensely deep. From his first ska records of the early 60's through to the deeply impassioned protest songs of his later years, he never stopped innovating and the quality of both sound and lyric have never been bettered and seldom equalled.
Picking just 10 songs is an impossible task...which is why I choose 11. I hope those who haven't heard these before share my love of them and that those who have continue to....
