Ōkami (literally "great god", "great spirit" or "wolf") is an action-adventure video game developed by Clover Studio and published by Capcom. It was released for Sony's PlayStation 2 video game console in 2006 in Japan and North America, and 2007 in Europe and Australia. Despite the closure of Clover Studio a few months after the game's initial release, a version for Nintendo's Wii console was developed and produced by Ready at Dawn, Tose and Capcom, which was released in North America in April 2008, in Europe in June 2008, and in Japan in October 2009.

Set sometime in classical Japanese history, Ōkami combines several Japanese myths, legends and folklore to tell the story of how the land was saved from darkness by the Shinto sun goddess, named Amaterasu, who took the form of a white wolf. It features a distinct sumi-e-inspired cel-shaded visual style and the Celestial Brush, a gesture-system to perform miracles.

Ōkami was one of the last PlayStation 2 games selected for release prior to the release of the PlayStation 3. Although it suffered from poor sales, Ōkami received critical acclaim, even earning the title of IGN's 2006 Game of the Year.[12] The Wii version has earned similar praise though the motion control scheme has received mixed reviews. A sequel for the Nintendo DS titled Ōkamiden was released in Japan on September 30, 2010 and in North America and Europe in March 2011.

Is me or does anyone think this game should be ported to the 3ds in 3d, Because I think that okamiden ds was the perfect platform for the brush although the wii-u will also be perfect for the brush also, man I cant wait to see what they do with the okami series in the future.

@OtakuBruno Man you have got to give me your video setup since I'd like to make video titles like that since it took me forever to get my 1st Review done and I'm still working on the second one. Hey if you have any video cameras, capture devices like DAZZLE you could send me let me know. Getting to Okami I prefer the PS2 one over Wii (my PS3 plays PS2) and Amaterasu is a tough fighter in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 I get killed more times online by people using Amaterasu and Dante (from DMC)
