Rather clever of Palmer to be able to rip Peart off when this was filmed, a few months before Peart joined Rush. At the time of this concert Peart was working for his father selling tractor parts at Dalziel Equipment

Whoever said Carl Palmer drum solo needed much to be desired is sniffing ass. I saw ELP at the Long Beach Arena in 1974. Prior to that concerts were about hippies going to concerts sitting on the floor smoking dope and getting high. During that concert we stood smoking dope and watched a new venue that changed concert productions at say the least. Carl Palmer solo is the best ever and I wish ELP would get back together.

You say Palmer's solos leave much to be desired? Did you watch the same clip as I did? That solo lasted almost 5 minutes and was played with as much energy and technical skill of ANY drummer on the face of this planet. Go back and listen to your "Back Street Boys" records you imbecile

First of all that moron couldn't even spell Neil Pearts name correctly and second of all it was Peart who was heavily influenced by Palmer, not the other way around. I suppose he thinks Bill Bruford and Lenny White are "Just Talented" as well. Too bad he's recieved too many negative comments to post any more so I wanted to voice my agreement with you. What an A-Hole.

This guy is on the money. Palmer is fun but there's no comparison to other better drummers. He's like Moon but without the crazy. Doesn't mean that ELP isn't a great band that made some fantastic songs, just that as a drummer his solos leave much to be desired. There's a clip of him here on ytube of just him and a snare and it's painful to watch, he really is trying but there's not much there. Bless him at his age though still banging away on the skins. Good on him.
