I found an exercise bike for 5 bucks from the Salvation Army and attached the alternator I was playing with in my other videos to show you how to make a bicycle generator. Generate electricity and get your exercise at the same time.

  • hi pixar. you need to excite the field windings to get it to generate electricity. i found two smaller 12 volt dc motors to be more efficient and easier to peddle. see my updated video....

  • (My opinion) since you can only pedal one bike at a time. I though putting 4 bikes together connecting the pedals to the other 3 pedals together with black tape, and have 4 generator connected to the 4 bikes. One person pedaling one bike to make the other pedals to pedal by them self's because the bike pedals are glue together with black tape with the other pedals running 4 generator's pedaling one bike. (My opinion)

  • nice presentation....like ur outtro (closing)

  • The only problem when using a car alternator running off an exercise bike, is that the electromagnetic rotor requires some of the alternator output. The other problem is: excitation of the rotor? It is easier and better to use a 24volt DC motor instead, as you will still obtain the same output, just have to peddle a little faster.

  • what type of alternator are you using ive tryed 3 different alternators and got nothing even hooked up to a battery can you help me ?

  • led acid battery when charged produce hydrogen
