Joy from Christ, not your performance - Paul Washer

This I tell you is the solid doctrine that is missing from our pulpit, preaching that will move mens hearts. Okay every one how about another slice of humble pie. Goes down smooth, but when it hits bottom, it will bring you to you're knees!! Can I get a witness??

I agree with everything Paul is saying. You aren't saved by works, but by the power of the holy spirit. One thing to remember is that having the holy spirit will renew your mind and soul, which in turn will cause you to behave differently. So what paul is saying is that you can't say you've been reborn and nothing about is conformed to the holy spirit.

they don't criticise examining works, they criticise relying on works, and as Paul says here, making works the basis for joy.
