When I was a kid, this was the highlight of staying home from school sick. The joy watching the whammy wipe out some poor greedy bastards stash would bring me back then is very rarely replicated in my adult life!! GO WHAMMY

That was the point--he wanted to clarify that the home player wouldn't get whatever the contestant hit in the spin afterward.

If someone hit $5,000 + ONE SPIN twice and then $2,500, for example, they'd have to send the home player $12,500 (since, after all, it was on the same spin number for that contestant).

I bet they were thinking that if they hit something with a spin, then the "home player" would get another home player spin. Basically them making sure that that particular spin was the only one the home player was to get.
