Preparing Steel Cut Oats in 10 minutes. A must try if you haven't eaten them before an activity of just about any kind. Biking, swiming, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, etc.....

With the density, it will give you 4 hours of sustained energy levels depending upon how much you eat. Give them a try.

  • I appreciate your effort for putting these videos together! Keep up the good work. Question for you in regards to the steel cut oats (which I've never heard of before until this vid) I just finished doing the prep work tonight and will wake up and finish them. How much Agave, vanilla & cinnamon do you put in with the half cup of oats recipe? Thanks!

  • @xcelwelding, hi, Agave is pretty much like honey, I just squeeze in a few tablespoons. As far as the cinnamon, just a quarter teaspoon as it goes a long way. Bottom line is that you 'season' it to your liking. Have a good workout or ride...

  • I need to try these! Sound much more nutritional than the ole' instant Quaker's oatmeal, and definitely cheaper. I wonder how good pecans and strawberries would taste with this.. Definitely picking some up before my next ride.

  • @4thatdude1, it's a must try especially for a calorie burning exercise like mtb'ing. The pecans and strawberries sounds like a good one. Maybe a little honey on top too if you like added sweetness... I had steel cut oats yesterday for breakfast...

  • @OtherVincentLee, on long rides I also pack a Gu, sometimes 1/2 of a peanut butter sandwich on wheat and maybe some type of carb drink in a water bottle...

  • @HealthyNactive thanks for the info, I will have to try this out sometime. I usually just take granola or other quick packaged food for energy.

  • @OtherVincentLee, I don't race mtb's. If I know that I'm in for a long ride/day, I'll eat either this or pasta and egg whites. Most mtb races for men are under 2 hours. A long ride for me is around 5 hours with a lot of breaks...=)

  • Do you ever prepare this in bags, for 6/9 hour mountain biking race?
