This is the only movie that tries to portray the horror and meaningless of the Vietnam war. Oliver Stone volunteered to go to combat and this is his way of describing his experience. My former neighbor was drafted into it. He and his fellow vets refuse to talk about what happened over there. "We don't talk about it." That's the only answer you'll ever get from them. I guess it's an agreed code: their way of dealing with the psychological trauma.
