This is a comparison review, going over the musical usefulness of two entry-level midi guitars. Both also work as game controllers, but I don't play rhythm games, so this is a review from an electronic musician's perspective. I'm not really a guitarist, so don't expect any fancy playing, but I think I went over most of the functionality in such a way that a guitarist might find this informative enough.
However, I forgot to mention that the Mustang uses 6 midi channels (one for each string) while the YRG uses one channel for everything (channel can be selected by user). I guess I'll make annotations as I think of things I missed or find new functions.
Strings are not tight on YRG, String space is wider than standard electric guitar space, but frets are narrower. Super touch sensitive neck is not that much sensitive if you are a fast light touch player you need to squeeze it hard.

@slmnv5 Yes, did I forget to mention that?

i think the wii and rockband ones have a usb dongle so one might be able to use that into the computer as opposed to the console. I am purely speculating however.

@spaceshipable Possible. Mine's not the Wii version though, it's the Xbox 360 version. But I think there's a way to receive the signal with a PC, and a way to get the MIDI from it, but I haven't really looked into how. I did see somewhere that someone had done it, but I'm not 100% sure it was the 360 version.
